Valuable Partners was founded in 2010 with a focused mandate: to bridge the gap between healthcare systems, service providers, communities, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
For over a decade, our work centered on educating clinical teams, organizations, legislators, and public agencies. We championed person-centered advocacy, educated professionals on neurodiversity through a strengths-based lens, and highlighted the immense value of genuine collaboration between neurotypical and neurodivergent individuals. Through training, curriculum design, and policy consultation, we helped organizations reframe disability—moving from passive compliance to authentic partnership.
Bringing Inclusion into the Public Square
Through years of systemic work, one truth became clear: true inclusion cannot be confined to clinical offices, conference rooms, or segregated programs. While institutional change is essential, culture truly shifts when people share everyday spaces, explore common passions, and solve problems together.
Because of our deep educational background in developmental disabilities, we recognized we were uniquely poised to do something different. We understood how diverse brains learn, engage, and thrive. That specialized expertise meant we didn't need to build "special" programs isolated from the community—instead, we could design universal public programs that are seamlessly and intentionally inclusive from the start.
